Remember that day in March when it freakishly snowed ALL DAY LONG? We do. We spent it with Clinton and Brandi shooting their wedding. Looking back at the pictures I don’t think the images accurately capture how awfully cold it was that day. They do, however, capture Clinton and Brandi’s willingness to take life as it comes and let us create some great art in the process.

We were reunited with Jason and Andrea at the beginning of March for a fabulous reception at the City Tavern. We expected a posh cocktail party type event. We got that plus an awesome dance floor that was packed as soon as it opened. Enjoy!

Behind the camera: Aaron usually gets awesome images… it’s just that he looks really funny doing it sometimes.

Jason & Andrea’s Wedding Day: Cancun, MX

We had the fantastic opportunity to travel with Jason and Andrea to the Azul Sensatori Resort in Mexico for their February wedding. Our usual love of shooting some place new went into hyperdrive – fueled by the fantastic weather, gorgeous views and a couple who is as welcoming and open as they are photogenic.

While getting ready to shoot on the pier (see Aaron modeling above), I noticed a guy who looked JUST like Jim Gaffigan and pointed it out to Aaron, who informed me that is WAS Jim Gaffigan. Realizing he was with his family and being the respectful fans that we are we didn’t bum rush him or yell something like “Hot Pocket”, but we did train our camera on him. Not great results… and of course, every other time we saw him (which was A LOT) we couldn’t discreetely get a shot. Still we stayed at the same resort as Jim Gaffigan. That counts for something right?

Brian & Kat’s Wedding: Overland Park, KS

You never know what you’re going to get at a February wedding, especially in terms of weather. Brian and Kat’s wedding day turned out to be one of the yuckiest days of the year, forcing us into Union Station for the creative time. As you well know, we don’t like to do anything traditional… which doesn’t make shooting at Union especially easy. Thankfully, we had a bride and groom who LOVE to laugh … and we found a cool side hall … and some segways…. enjoy!

The rumors are true, while in Mexico for Jason & Andrea’s wedding I was toting around an old Polaroid Alpha with SX-70 film. I have to admit that I’m slightly addicted to it, so much more fun than a point-and-shoot digital. If you want a whole wedding shot on Polaroids than you should call me now because I’m game.
