This is when our couples do the deed …. not that deed… sicko!

Aaron will usually claim this is my category. But judging by the number of grooms who made my cut, he must be bringing his game up. It was honestly hard for me to pick between my top two. Sorry Phill, Amber just edged you out from being the first #1 getting ready pick.

First comes love… then comes marriage. We will admit that e-sessions are one of our favorite things about the whole wedding process because we can do things that simply can’t be accomplished the day of the wedding (i.e. with time constraints and in a white dress).

Our 2010 e-sessions offered a wide variety, which is no surprise considering we get to work with so many unique couples. I chose images that really summed each session.

We’re holding on to 2010 for a few more weeks so we can show you our favorites from the year. If you’ve followed our blog for a while, you know that this series is hotly debated in the Hawes household… with most arguments ending in an agree to disagree fashion. We create art, so it’s no surprise that the particular beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right?

We’ll roll through 8 categories of awesomeness: Shooting Ourselves, E-session, Getting Ready, Ceremony, Details, Reception, Wedding Party and Couples. Be sure to check back and let us know what you think of our picks.

Shooting ourselves

Sometimes we (usually Heather) like to take pictures of each other shooting. Here are a few of our faves.

I didn’t order mine, but I love Aaron’s self portrait from Annie and TJ’s wedding. Plus he looked pretty rockin’ at Bryan and Amanda’s e-session….

Our couples are at the heart of our photography. We love capturing the dynamic between two people. This year did not disappoint.

I can’t believe we’ve reached the end but here it goes. All of our couples are amazingly special to us and choosing these ten was extremely difficult because of that. Thanks everyone for a great 2009 and here’s to an even better 2010!

This is what it all comes down to ladies and gentlemen. We do what we do because we love the couples we work with. They’re all different and all awesome. Choosing just 10 images to sum up an entire year of work is painfully difficult.

The people you love the most… besides each other

Aaron’s Picks:

I made the mistake of reading what Heather wrote about wedding parties before doing it myself. So now you get this. Wedding Parties are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get. Okay, I apologize for that. I really have a blast with the groups because by the wedding day, our couples know we’re crazy, know that we’re likely to put you someplace strange, ect. By the end you’ll either love us or hate us, but at least you’ll be in a couple cool images. Like these. Enjoy.

Heather’s Picks:

There’s no good way to sum up wedding parties. They’re always a mixed bag and you never know what you’re going to get until the day of the wedding. We’re lucky because most of our laid back clients have equally laid back friends. And that means we can ask them to do sometimes strange things to get some great images.

I do have to say that I love, love my top pick. If we were narrowing the entire year to 10 images total, this would be high on my list.
