It’s funny how the places that you’ve spent the most time in your life can be the last ones you photograph. My stomping grounds growing up were all over old downtown Independence. I realized not long ago that I’ve never taken a single photo there. Well thanks to Chad & Diana that’s over. Thanks for satisfying my nostalgia. Enjoy.

Okay, so I don’t make a lot of rules for sessions but Todd & Shelly accidently broke one of the few. Yes, they have matching outfits. In their defense they didn’t even mean to do it. Have you ever gotten dressed, walked out the door, just to turn to your wife/gf/whatever and realize you have the same color on? Well that never happens to me (wink) but I really thought it was pretty funny because Shelly felt really bad about it, they even brought another change of clothes that were also blue… wow. Seriously… I love it… and them… and these pics… enjoy!

While I’m shooting this….

Bailey was on the hunt, and brought us back this huge deer leg.

Joel and Chelse are a bit untraditional, so it’s no surprise that their Friday wedding found us wandering the alleys of the Crossroads, laying on a hill to capture their wedding party and enjoying a magician at their reception. We always love it when clients bring their personality! So here’s a peek at what we saw throughout their day.

Just a quick, cute blog from Clinton and Brandi’s e-session. We have lots to share in the next few weeks so stay tuned!

The first time we met Brooke she sat in our studio in complete awe of our work. That’s a sure way to get in on our good side! She gushed and laughed and talked and talked and talked. I, for one, was hooked by her bubbly personality and was very excited when she chose us to shoot her wedding. When we got the chance to meet Michael a few months before the wedding, it was clear he was also hooked. His stiff military facade melts when he looks at Brooke. And in mid-May we celebrated with them in a wedding full of color, military honor and laughter. Enjoy!

Someday we’ll add a “published by” on the blog so you know who’s talking. For purposes of this blog I thought it may make sense to point out that this is Heather. We’re back in a full season of weddings so I get to take over the blog!
When we had a last minute cancellation on our boudoir weekend, our friend Kelly offered to be a fill in model. So the for the last session of the weekend we eeked out enough energy to shoot, but mostly we just talked with her and her husband, Jason.
There are many reasons I love being friends with Kelly – three are evident in this session. 1. She has the an amazing smile and she’s quick to laugh. 2. She is a planner. The outfits we chose were only half of what she brought because she wanted us to have options. 3. She throws herself into any project. She actually brought a baseball glove to complete the Cardinals “look”.

Kel – Thanks for being a fill in! I hope you really enjoy the pictures. Maybe after your fitness competition we can shoot some edgier ones to show off what I’m sure will be a ridiculously cut body! – Heather
