Tim and Samantha’s stylish April wedding caught the eye of the knot editors when they saw it on our blog. It’s no surprise! The sophisticated yellow and black details were gorgeous – not to mention the modelesque bride and groom. We were happy to provide pictures showing the details of their day! Check out more of their pictures on our blog or read their story on the knot web site.

Jarrod and Kerrie have been fun to work with from the very beginning. They have a great sense of humor that meshes well with ours and that flowed through with their family and friends. It made shooting their wedding feel more like hanging out with friends and we’ve been lucky enough to hang out with Jarrod and Kerrie since we delivered their pictures.
Details:
Ceremony: King of King Lutheran
Reception: Muehlebach Hotel
Cake: Nellie’s Custom Cakes
Kerrie spent most of her pre-wedding prep in her undergarments. I did my best to shoot around it but finally realized she must not care too much.

I love the emotion in this picture – especially on Kerrie’s face. I think all brides feel like this at some point – Please don’t cry!

The ceremony ended with one of the best bubble exits we’ve seen.

We headed downtown for some awesome pictures with the party. The session ended up going a little long (sorry hungry guests) and our only regret is that we didn’t have more time. The Muehlebach Hotel is a gorgeous canvas!

Then it was time for Kerrie and Jarrod to rock the camera. Kerrie clearly has experience in this area.

We had to get a few inside too! This couch was too cool to pass up.

The reception was filled with lots of great emotion starting with the toasts.

The mother-daughter dance had me near tears. So sweet!

Kerrie and Jarrod – You’re officially famous now that your wedding has been on our blog! We’re hoping it’s not the last time and looking forward to haning out with you again sometime soon!

We made the long drive to Paola, Kansas, for Steve and Tamara’s wedding in September. It gave us plenty of time to watch the sky and hope that the rain would break at some point. There were rays of light in our day but they came in the form of a fun-loving wedding party that continually quoted such cinema greats as Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly. This group was extremely close and it showed throught the day. Take a peek.
Details:
Ceremony: Holy Trinity
Reception: Tent that was supposed to be on a relative’s farm but was set up next to the church due to the wet ground. They kept the party in quiet mode until after 5 pm mass though – so no worries!
Caterer: Maceli’s
DJ: Encore

We did manage to sneak out for a few dry moments before the ceremony. We couldn’t go far but we were lucky to have a cobblestone road right out front!

We did try a few serious pictures – but it didn’t last long…

We definitely had to get rid of the wedding party and let Steve and Tamara have some alone time. They clearly enjoyed it!

This is what you can get when you have a small sanctuary, rain, a few video lights and Hawes Photography doing your wedding! I’m sure they never thought they’d rock a doorway on their wedding day.

After the ceremony and a trip to the bar – the wedding party was ready to rock the house. They did so in fine fashion – dancing and drinking into the wee hours.

Steve and Tamara – Thanks for staying relaxed, not worrying too much about a little rain and “what do I do with my hands”. We’d crash one of your parties anytime!
