Jason & Andrea: The Polaroids

The rumors are true, while in Mexico for Jason & Andrea’s wedding I was toting around an old Polaroid Alpha with SX-70 film. I have to admit that I’m slightly addicted to it, so much more fun than a point-and-shoot digital. If you want a whole wedding shot on Polaroids than you should call me now because I’m game.

Enjoy these samplings, the best is yet to come.

Garrett & Melanie: Kansas City, KS

We met with Garrett and Melanie for some casual and COLD engagement pics in January. Llywelyn’s Pub in Overland Park was a great place to start. Garrett is big beer fan (even brewing some of his own at home) and, as you probably know, we like locations with personal ties. The second half of the session was in the mostly snow-covered Black Bob Park, where we battled fading light and frozen toes. We’re looking forward to another session with them this spring, which should be much, much warmer!

Josh & Safire’s Wedding: Kansas City, MO

We celebrated our last wedding of 2009 at Josh and Safire’s vintage inspired event. The Airline History Museum was a perfect venue for the intimate ceremony and some drooly worthy detail shots. Enjoy!

We’re back

We just got back from Mexico and plenty of awesome is coming. Stay tuned!

Best of the Best 2009: Couples (and the end)

Our couples are at the heart of our photography. We love capturing the dynamic between two people. This year did not disappoint.

Aaron’s Picks:

I can’t believe we’ve reached the end but here it goes. All of our couples are amazingly special to us and choosing these ten was extremely difficult because of that. Thanks everyone for a great 2009 and here’s to an even better 2010!

Heather’s Picks:

This is what it all comes down to ladies and gentlemen. We do what we do because we love the couples we work with. They’re all different and all awesome. Choosing just 10 images to sum up an entire year of work is painfully difficult.

Best of the Best 2009: Wedding Party

The people you love the most… besides each other

Aaron’s Picks:

I made the mistake of reading what Heather wrote about wedding parties before doing it myself. So now you get this. Wedding Parties are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get. Okay, I apologize for that. I really have a blast with the groups because by the wedding day, our couples know we’re crazy, know that we’re likely to put you someplace strange, ect. By the end you’ll either love us or hate us, but at least you’ll be in a couple cool images. Like these. Enjoy.

Heather’s Picks:

There’s no good way to sum up wedding parties. They’re always a mixed bag and you never know what you’re going to get until the day of the wedding. We’re lucky because most of our laid back clients have equally laid back friends. And that means we can ask them to do sometimes strange things to get some great images.

I do have to say that I love, love my top pick. If we were narrowing the entire year to 10 images total, this would be high on my list.
